About me

 My name is Clara, I'm an artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Portraying pets in ceramics began as a game and ended up being the job I dreamed of and did not know was possible.

I have been attending pottery workshops since I was a teenager. In one of them, during the last ten minutes of class, I started modelling some little dogs and fell in love. A week later, on 1 May 2024, I decided to buy 10 kilos of clay to make more dogs at home because I really wanted to explore.

Since then, I've been modelling dogs in a small studio I made in my backyard.

 Little by little, requests for personalised portraits began to come in, until I put my fears aside and decided to say yes. I started slowly, and to this day it is what I enjoy doing most.

I am also a botanical illustrator; I took workshops in Buenos Aires and also trained in the Scientific Illustration course at Kew Gardens, London, in 2019.

Since the trip I took for that course, I began to make illustrations of buildings in sketchbook format more spontaneously. I still maintain this practice on every trip :)

Since my dog passed away, this work has taken on a deeper meaning for me, which is also to accompany those who have lost their pet in their grief and ask me for a miniature to remember them by.  Making the miniatures eases the grief of those who receive them, as well as my own. So I am always very grateful for the openness of my clients :)
